New Hampshire Hospitals Ask Court to Approve Affiliation After Attorney General Objects

Lebanon, N.H.-based Dartmouth-Hitchcock Health and Manchester, N.H.-based Catholic Medical Center have asked a county probate court to approve their affiliation after it was objected to by the state Attorney General in May, according to a report by the Union Leader.

Attorney General Michael A. Delaney said the affiliation potentially violated state law, needed probate court approval and potentially gave DHH too much control over CMC Charities, according to the report.

The groups hope that their most recent appeal filing will reach the Supreme Court, which has the power to overturn the Attorney General’s objections.
