1. Warwick, R.I.-based Kent Hospital announced an advanced heart failure program with Boston’s Center for Advanced Heart Disease at Brigham and Women’s Hospital
 
2. Bowling Green, Ky.-based TriStar Greenview Regional Hospital began a $1.4 million upgrade of its cardiology equipment and facilities.
 
3. Sanford, Maine-based Goodall Hospital announced it will offer cardiology services in advance of a planned Jan. 1, 2014, merger with Biddeford-based Southern Maine Medical Center.
 
4. Greece, N.Y.-based Unity Hospital opened its new cardiology floor.
 
5. Akron, Ohio-based Summa Health System’s cardiovascular institute received a $4 million donation from Richard M. and Yvonne Hamlin for the construction of a specialized cardiovascular operating room.
