Butler, Pa.-based Independence Health System has named two leaders for the organization.
Matt Schnur, PharmD, was appointed president of Butler Memorial and Clarion hospitals, and Michael Sekhon, PharmD, is being promoted to system vice president of ancillary services, an expansion of his current role, according to a March 26 news release.
Dr. Schnur is a veteran of the organization. He joined Butler Health System in 2011 as a staff pharmacist and advanced to director of pharmacy prior to his new role, according to the release.
Dr. Schnur will succeed Karen Allen, who plans to retire.
Ms. Allen and Dr. Schnur will also serve as co-presidents in the coming months until the leadership transition is complete.
Dr. Sekhon, who joined Excela Health in 2018, will be responsible for pharmacy, laboratory and radiology service lines, according to the release.
Independence, which formed in 2023 with the merger of Butler Health System and Greensburg, Pa.-based Excela Health System, is a five-hospital system with 7,300 employees.
