West Virginia system names quality chief

Jacob Kilgore, MD, has been named inaugural chief quality officer at Huntington, W. Va.-based Marshall Health Network. 

The four-hospital system said it created the role to advance quality and patient safety. Dr. Kilgore will be responsible for developing evidence-based programs to improve patient safety and outcomes, according to a Nov. 24 news release. He will work closely with the system’s chief physician executive, chief medical officer and chief nursing officer to ensure consistent quality improvement.

Dr. Kilgore is a pediatric infectious disease specialist at Marshall Health Network’s Hoops Family Children’s Hospital in Huntington, W. Va.
