Nashville, Tenn.-based Vanderbilt University Medical Center named Kyla Terhune, MD, vice president for educational affairs, effective July 1. She will also serve as associate dean for graduate medical education for Nashville-based Vanderbilt University School of Medicine.
Five points:
1. Dr. Terhune is an associate professor of surgery and director of the surgery residency training program at Vanderbilt.
2. She has also served as vice chair for education for Vanderbilt's Section of Surgical Sciences.
3. Equipped with critical care training and an MBA from Nashville-based Vanderbilt University Owen School of Graduate Management, Dr. Terhune will help lead graduate medical education at VUMC.
4. She will also serve as the National Resident Matching Program Designated Institutional Official.
5. She succeeds Donald Brady, MD, who was promoted to executive vice president for educational affairs at VUMC and senior associate dean for health sciences education with the school of medicine.
