Vail Health appoints Will Cook CEO

Vail (Colo.) Health selected Will Cook to serve as president and CEO, effective in early January 2019.

Mr. Cook currently serves as president and CEO of University of Colorado Hospital in Aurora, part of Denver-based UCHealth. Prior to joining UCHealth, he held numerous roles at UPMC for 13 years.

Mr. Cook earned a master’s degree in health administration from Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, and he has completed a two-year fellowship in healthcare administration at Baltimore-based Johns Hopkins Health System.

Mr. Cook succeeds Doris Kirchner, who announced in June that she was planning on departing from the role.

Vail Health is a nonprofit community healthcare system with 12 locations.
