15 Hospital Executive Moves

The following executive moves took place within the past week, beginning with the most recent.

1. Vincent C. Caponi, CEO of St. Vincent Health in Indianapolis, was named the new Ministry Market Leader for Wisconsin by St. Louis-based Ascension Health.

2. Larry Sanders, chairman and CEO of Columbus (Ga.) Regional Healthcare System, announced his plan to retire on Sept. 30.

3. Hugh H. Collins is no longer CEO of Point Pleasant, W. Va.-based Pleasant Valley Hospital. The hospital did not disclose the reason for Mr. Collins’s departure.

4. Kelly McCormick-Sullivan was named president and CEO of The Pluta Cancer Center in Henrietta, N.Y.

5. Joseph P. Ross, FACHE, was named president and CEO of Meritus Health in Hagerstown, Md.

6. Edward Nawrocki was named president of Luke’s Riverside Hospital in Bethlehem Township, Pa. He will continue to serve as president of St. Luke’s Quakertown in Quakertown, Pa., while he assumes his new responsibilities.

7. Charles Stewart, CEO, and Gerald Faircloth, vice president of operations and interim CFO, resigned from Hutcheson Medical Center in Fort Oglethorpe, Ga., effective immediately.

8. Linda V. Simmons was named CEO of Decatur County Memorial Hospital in Greensburg, Ind.

9. Jeanne Gigi Darricades was named president and CEO of Valley-Wide Health Systems in Alamosa, Colo.

10. William B. Downey was named president of Riverside Health System in Newport News, Va., effective March 1.

11. Mary Starmann-Harrison was named CEO of Springfield, Ill.-based Hospital Sisters Health System.

12. Kenneth Graham, CEO of El Camino Hospital in Mountain View, Calif., was ousted by the board of directors without cause.

13. Carl P. Vaagenes was named CEO of Douglas County Hospital in Alexandria, Minn.

14. R. Milton Johnson was promoted to president of Nashville, Tenn.-based HCA and retains his title and responsibilities as CFO.

15. Larry Lewellen was promoted to the new post of vice president of care coordination and health promotion, effective March 1, at Ohio State University Medical Center in Columbus.
