“The impending merger of the TAMHSC into the university seems an appropriate time for new leadership to take the helm,” Dr. Dickey said.
E.J. Pederson, former executive vice president and COO of The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston, will serve as the acting head to TAMHSC.
Dr. Dickey had served as the president for the past 11 years. The Texas A&M Health Science Center has six components and two centers throughout Texas.
