Here are four takeaways:
1. Ms. Caldwell comes to St. Mary Medical Center from Palm Springs, Calif.-based Desert Regional Medical Center, where she served as CEO until Feb. 24.
2. Prior to Desert Regional, she was CEO of Centerpoint Medical Center in Independence, Mo.
3. Ms. Caldwell will take on her new roles at St. Mary Medical Center in June.
4. In her new role, Ms. Caldwell will focus on St. Mary’s expansion of its senior wellness program and partnerships with local’ community services and CARE Centers. She will also oversee expansion of the hospital’s emergency department from 26 beds to 47.
“The extensive experience Carolyn brings to Long Beach will be impactful on the growth and positive change ahead,” said Julie Sprengel, Dignity Health’s senior vice president for the Southern California service area, in a news release.
