Sara Vaezy is leaving Renton, Wash.-based Providence after nearly 10 years.
Ms. Vaezy joined Providence in 2016 as technical advisor for digital innovation and the next year became vice president and chief digital strategy officer. She continued expanding her role, serving as chief digital strategy and business development officer, chief of digital and growth strategy, chief strategy and digital officer and finally was named chief transformation officer in February.
Throughout her time at Providence, Ms. Vaezy played a critical role in growing the health system’s technology and innovation departments. She helped develop startups through Providence’s venture capital arm and most recently spearheaded the system’s digital, virtual care, marketing and consumer experience initiatives.
Providence spun out four digital health companies during Ms. Vaezy’s tenure, including Xealth, Circle, DexCare and Praia Health.
On June 12, Ms. Vaezy announced on LinkedIn that she planned to step away from Providence to “pursue new adventures.”
“As a Providence alumnus, I am cheering on all the incredible care givers who care for people every day and am excited to see Providence continuing its legacy of innovation and compassion serving all people, in particular folks who are marginalized,” Ms. Vaezy wrote.
