OrthoCarolina appoints new CEO: 4 things to know

OrthoCarolina, an independent orthopedics practice based in Charlotte, N.C, has named Bruce Cohen, MD, CEO, effective July 1.

Here are four things to know about Dr. Cohen.

1. He has been an orthopedic foot and ankle surgeon since 1997 and a physician with OrthoCarolina since its founding in 2005.

2. At OrthoCarolina, Dr. Cohen has served in various leadership roles, including vice chairman of the board of directors and chairman of the operations committee.

3. He also has served as fellowship director of the OrthoCarolina Foot and Ankle Fellowship and subspecialty chief for the orthopedic surgery department at Charlotte-based Carolinas Medical Center.

4. In his new role, Dr. Cohen will replace Dan Murrey, MD, who will take the helm at Transformant Healthcare Solutions, a new company providing management services to private physician groups.
