Bay Area Hospital in Coos Bay, Ore., appointed Gretchen Nichols, BSN, RN, as president and CEO, effective immediately.
Ms. Nichols previously served as COO of Bay Area Hospital and brings more than two decades of executive leadership experience, according to an Oct. 15 hospital news release shared with Becker’s. She played a key role in the hospital’s recent transformation efforts and led strategic initiatives focused on operations, service lines and workforce development.
Kelly Morgan, who has been serving as interim CEO, will remain in an advisory role as needed during the transition. The appointment follows the resignation of Brian Moore, who stepped down from the role in July after leading the hospital since 2019.
