Ochsner Health System CEO Patrick Quinlan to Step Down

Patrick Quinlan, MD, will step down as CEO of Ochsner Health System in New Orleans to head the new Ochsner Center for Community Wellness and Health Policy, effective Sept. 1.

Dr. Quinlan will continue to serve on the Ochsner Health System board of directors. He joined the health system in 1999 and was appointed as CEO in 2001. Under his tenure, U.S. News & World Report recognized Ochsner Medical Center in New Orleans numerous times as one of the Best Hospitals in America, and Thomson Reuters named it one of the nation’s 100 Top Hospitals three times.

Warner Thomas, current president and COO of Ochsner Health, will succeed Dr. Quinlan as the system’s CEO. As president and COO, Mr. Thomas led Ochsner Health’s effort in building its system through the acquisition of six hospitals.
