Mr. Gianelli was named to lead the health system in 2006. Mr. Gianelli sent a letter to the staff saying that he will stay in the job for the next three months, but reasons for resignation have not yet been disclosed, according to the report.
NuHealth is comprised of Nassau University Medical Center in East Meadow, a nursing facility and a number of family health centers.
