Kevin Abel, president of Kalispell, Mont.-based Logan Health, plans to step down from his role March 1.

Mr. Abel previously served as co-CEO of Billings (Mont.) Clinic-Logan Health, formed through the September 2023 merger of Billings Clinic and Logan Health. The board later adopted a single-CEO structure, appointing Clint Seger, MD, the sole CEO, effective Jan. 1.

“It has been an honor to serve this organization for the past eight years and to work alongside such a dedicated and compassionate team,” Mr. Abel said in a Jan. 22 Logan Health news release shared with Becker’s. “… I remain steadfast in my support for Dr. Seger. When you combine Clint’s clinical and leadership experience with the talent, compassion and devotion of our caregivers and staff, Logan Health is exceptionally well positioned to deliver outstanding care for decades to come.”

Before joining Logan Health-Whitefish (Mont.) — then known as North Valley Hospital — as CEO in 2018, Mr. Abel served as CEO of Lake Chelan (Wash.) Community Hospital for nine years, according to his LinkedIn profile.

Following his departure, Mr. Abel plans to pause his 27-year healthcare leadership career to spend time with family before exploring new opportunities, the release said.

“I am deeply grateful for the many relationships formed over the years, and I am incredibly proud of the work being done every day across our system,” Mr. Abel said. “Logan Health has a very bright future.”
