Michael Stenger to head Western Arizona Regional Medical Center permanently: 5 notes

Franklin, Tenn.-based Community Health Systems appointed Michael J. Stenger permanent CEO of Western Arizona Regional Medical Center in Bullhead City, effective Jan. 14, according to a Mohave Valley Daily News report.

Here are five notes:

1. Mr. Stenger became interim CEO of the hospital in July 2018.

2. Previously, he worked at Brentwood, Tenn.-based Quorum Health Resources, a former division of CHS.

3. He also has experience working for Centennial, Colo.-based Centura Health, Winston-Salem, N.C.-based Novant Health and Springfield, Ill.-based Hospital Sisters Health System.

4. Mr. Stenger has 30-plus years of senior executive-level experience in healthcare.

5. He succeeded Thomas Salerno, who resigned.
