UNC Lenoir Health Care taps new CEO: 4 things to know

Kinston, N.C.-based UNC Lenoir Health Care hired James D. Dennard, Jr., to serve as president and CEO, effective in March.

Here are four things to know:

1. Mr. Dennard most recently served as administrator for Gwinnett Medical Center in Lawrenceville, Ga.

2. He is a fellow with the American College of Healthcare Executives and with the Healthcare Financial Management Association.

3. Mr. Dennard is the permanent successor to Gary Black, who retired last year.

4. He holds a master of public administration degree from Columbus (Ga.) State University as well as a master of health administration degree and an MBA from Atlanta-based Georgia State University.
