Michael J. Dowling. President and CEO of Northwell Health (Great Neck, N.Y.). Mr. Dowling joined Northwell Health in 1995 as executive vice president and COO after 12 years in New York State government, including time as commissioner of the New York State Department of Social Services. In 2002, he was tapped to lead Northwell Health as president and CEO, and has since grown Northwell to encompass 22 hospitals, 550-plus outpatient facilities and 63,500-plus employees. He was named one of the highest-rated CEOs of 2017 by the job site Glassdoor.
