Marshfield Clinic Changes Governance Structure, Creates Health System

Marshfield (Wis.) Clinic’s board of directors has agreed to a new governance structure that includes independent directors, according to a report by the Marshfield News-Herald.

The agreement created the Marshfield Clinic Health System, a new entity that will oversee all clinic operations, according to the report. Marshfield Clinic Health System will oversee Security Health Plan, Flambeau Hospital in Park Falls, Wis., and Lakeview Medical Center in Rice Lake, Wis. Marshfield Clinic will become a subsidiary of Marshfield Clinic Health System.

A new system-wide board of directors was also created, which includes the existing 11 clinic directors and 13 independent directors.
