Maine system taps surgeon as new CEO

Guy Hudson, MD, was appointed president and CEO of Brewer, Maine-based Northern Light Health, effective in mid-October.

Dr. Hudson brings experience as a pediatric urologic surgeon and healthcare executive. 

He served as CEO of Seattle-based Swedish Health System for six years and chief executive of Renton, Wash.-based Providence’s North Division, including Puget Sound and Alaska, for two years, according to a health system news release.

In his new role, he will succeed Tim Dentry, who has helmed Northern Light Health since 2020 and plans to retire this year.

Northern Light Health is a 10-hospital health system with more than 10,000 employees.
