Luminis Health names new COO

Catherine Maloney has been named executive vice president and COO of Annapolis, Md.-based Luminis Health, effective in late September.

She will also serve as president of Luminis Health Anne Arundel Medical Center in Annapolis, according to a July 28 health system news release shared with Becker’s.

Ms. Maloney most recently served as COO of Emory University Hospital and Emory University Orthopaedics and Spine Hospital in Atlanta. During her nearly 20-year tenure, she led improvements in emergency department flow and patient experience, and oversaw expansion projects and financial performance initiatives.

In her new role, she will oversee operations across more than 90 sites of care and systemwide functions, including human resources, information technology and quality and patient safety.

She will succeed Sherry Perkins, PhD, RN, who is retiring after six years as president of Luminis Health Anne Arundel Medical Center.
