Lifepoint Michigan system to restructure leadership

Mitch Leckelt will retire June 1 after more than 11 years as CEO of UP Health System-Bell in Ishpeming, Mich.

Mr. Leckelt joined Bell in 2014 after serving as vice president of operations at UP Health System-Marquette (Mich.), according to an April 8 system news release.

Following his departure, UP Health System will restructure its leadership team.

Tonya Darner, CEO of Marquette, will assume an expanded role as market CEO for both Marquette and Bell hospitals, effective June 1.

Alyson Sundberg, vice president of operations at Maquette, will become COO of Bell. She joined the health system in 2002.

UP Health System operates three hospitals and is part of Brentwood, Tenn.-based Lifepoint Health.
