Santa Barbara, Calif.-based Cottage Health named Ganesh Persad vice president and CIO.
Mr. Persad has spent his 20-plus year career in healthcare information technology with a focus on improving the patient and workforce experience. He previously served as corporate director of digital patient experience and transformation at Atlanta-based Emory Healthcare. During his time at Emory, he was instrumental in installing the Epic MyChart Bedside TV with virtual nursing and achieving 10 Epic Gold Stars. Mr. Persad also spent time as the HIMSS South Florida chapter president.
He will begin his new role Sept. 8.
Mr. Persad will be the chief strategist and leader of all information systems in his new role, and have a hand in transformation and technology solution implementation. He will participate in systemwide strategic planning, develop and execute the strategic and tactical IT plans, creating a “forward-thinking technology culture that champions innovation,” according to Cottage Health’s news release.
The nonprofit health system has more than 700 physicians and reported 20,733 inpatient admissions at its hospitals last year.
