COO of OSU Wexner Medical to resign

Peter Geier, COO of Columbus-based Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center and CEO of OSU Health System, will resign Dec. 1, according Columbus Business First.

Mr. Geier will remain with the institution to help guide a smooth transition as OSU Wexner Medical Center’s new CEO, Sheldon Retchin, MD, takes office in March.

Mr. Geier joined OSU Wexner Medical Center in 2001 as COO. In 2003, he added on CEO duties for OSU Health System.

According to the report, Mr. Geier said in a statement he will work with outside boards, consulting and teaching after his resignation takes effect.
