Catawba Valley Medical Center CFO to retire after 33 years: 5 notes

Hickory, N.C.-based Catawba Valley Medical Center CFO David Boone retired, ending a 33-year tenure.

1. Mr. Boone was named to the CFO position in 1984.

2. During his tenure, the hospital completed a number of major expansions including a $34 million patient pavilion project.

3. Mr. Boone helped grow Catawba Valley Medical Group from six family medicine practices to 15 practices.

4. In October 2016, the North Carolina governor conferred The Order of the Long Leaf Pine on Mr. Boone, which is considered the highest honor the governor can award.

5. Kimberly S. Crews will succeed Mr. Boone.
