Carilion Clinic makes personnel changes: 4 things to know

Carilion Clinic in Roanoke, Va., has made various personnel changes for the second quarter of 2016, the organization announced.

Here are four things to know about the changes.

1. Jonathan L. Gleason, MD, has been appointed medical director of risk management. Dr. Gleason joined Carilion Clinic in 2010 and also serves as chief of urogynecology.

2. Martin Misicko, PhD, joined Carilion Clinic in April as vice president of facilities. Prior to joining Carilion Clinic, Dr. Martin was director of operations and construction at Roanoke County Public Schools.

3. Paul Skolnik, MD, joined Carilion Clinic and Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine in May as chairman of the department of medicine. Previously, Dr. Skolnik was chairman of the department of medicine at the University of Connecticut Health Center in Farmington and the James E.C. Walker, MD, professor of medicine at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine, also in Farmington.

4. William “Bill” Wasserman joined Carilion Clinic in May as vice president of psychiatry. Prior to joining Carilion Clinic, Mr. Wasserman was interim executive director of Liberty Healthcare Corp. at Westchester (N.Y.) Medical Center.
