Mr. Wagoner, who has served as executive vice president and COO since 2020, joined the system 18 years ago as COO of Clovis (Calif.) Community Medical Center. He later served as CEO of Clovis Community and Community Regional Medical Center in Fresno, according to a Dec. 2 news release from the system.
He succeeds Craig Castro, who announced his retirement in November.
Community Health System includes four inpatient hospitals as well as long-term care and outpatient facilities.
