Saad Ehtisham was appointed president and CEO of Morristown, N.J.-based Atlantic Health System, effective July 30.

Mr. Ehtisham brings more than two decades of healthcare experience to the role, according to a June 5 news release.

Currently, he is senior vice president and president of acute care operations for Winston-Salem, N.C.-based Novant Health. He also previously served as senior vice president for Novant’s greater Charlotte region and president of Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center in Charlotte.

“Patients and families across our region deserve the very best care — cutting edge treatments and therapies that are as accessible, affordable and convenient as they are healing,” Laura Ann Kelly, board chair of Atlantic Health System, said in the release. “After a comprehensive national search, we are delighted to welcome Saad to our broad community and grateful that his thoughtful, seasoned leadership will now guide our talented team.”

Mr. Ehtisham will succeed Brian Gragnolati, who is retiring. Mr. Gragnolati joined Atlantic Health System as president and CEO in 2015.

Atlantic Health System is an eight-hospital system with 21,000 team members.
