Albany Med CEO exits role

Albany (N.Y.) Med Health System’s board has named Daniel Pickett III as president and CEO, replacing Dennis McKenna, MD, effective immediately.

Mr. Pickett has been a member of the system’s board since 2012 and became chair in July. He brings more than a decade of governance experience at nonprofit institutions and will now lead the system’s long-term strategy alongside its current leadership team.

“Our future will be built on deeper system integration, physician alignment, academic distinction, and innovation across our ambulatory and hospital care delivery network,” Mr. Pickett said in the release. “I am honored to lead the System as we accelerate this strategy and work together across every hospital, specialty, and community to deliver the highest-quality, patient-centered care.”

The board also appointed Raimundo Archibold Jr. as chair.

Albany Med Health System has 1,520 beds and 125 outpatient locations and employs more than 900 physicians.

A health system spokesperson declined to comment further on the CEO transition.
