Akram Boutros, MD. President and CEO of the MetroHealth System (Cleveland). Dr. Boutros, an internist by training, joined MetroHealth System as president and CEO in June 2013. He is the health system’s public representative and works in partnership with MetroHealth’s board of trustees to fulfill organizational missions and create strategies for future success. In addition to his roles at MetroHealth System, Dr. Boutros serves on the boards of the Greater Cleveland Partnership and United Way of Greater Cleveland. Early in his career, Dr. Boutros sharpened his leadership skills as head of BusinessFirst Healthcare Solutions, a Great Neck, N.Y.-based regional healthcare advisory firm, and executive vice president and chief administrative officer of Roslyn, N.Y.-based St. Francis Hospital – The Heart Center.
