5 recent HCA executive changes

Melissa Russo was selected as division vice president of HCA Midwest Physicians Services Group, a position she took on as of Dec. 31.

Ms. Russo comes to her new role after serving as chief operations officer for Mercy Health Physicians Medical Group, according to a Jan. 16 news release shared with Becker’s. This role was based in Youngstown, Ohio.

Becker’s also reported other executive appointments at HCA hospitals since Jan. 3.

  • Patrick Rafferty was named COO of Overland Park (Kan.) Regional Medical Center, part of HCA Healthcare. 
  • Natalie Mussi, the longtime CEO of HCA Healthcare’s Los Robles Regional Medical Center in Thousand Oaks, Calif., is leaving her post for a new opportunity as vice president of operations for Surgery Ventures, a national surgery center network owned by HCA.
  • Marilu Madrigal, MD, was named chief medical officer of HCA Florida Mercy Hospital in Miami.
  • Cullen Brown was named CEO of Kissimmee-based HCA Florida Poinciana Hospital.

HCA Healthcare is based in Nashville, Tenn.
