4 leaders exit academic health systems

Four presidents and CEOs have departed their roles at academic health systems since May: 

1. Yale New Haven (Conn.) Hospital: Keith Churchwell, MD, will resign as president of the hospital on Aug. 11. He currently serves as president-elect of the American Heart Association and will become its president in 2024.

2. University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville: Joseph Landsman Jr. is retiring as president and CEO after nearly two decades in the role. Keith Gray, MD, the health system's current chief medical officer, will succeed him April 1,2024. 

3. Vanderbilt University Hospital (Nashville, Tenn.): Shon Dwyer, RN, resigned as president of the hospital. Lee Ann Liska, the hospital's COO, has been named interim president.

4. Lawrence + Memorial Hospital (New London, Conn.): Patrick Green has left his role as president and CEO of the hospital and executive vice president of its parent organization, Yale New Haven Health. He took a new position as CEO of UF Health Jacksonville (Fla.).
