1. Munson Medical Center in Traverse City, Mich., named Alfred E. Pilong Jr., MBA, president, effective April 3.

2. Matt Gerlach turned down Salinas (Calif.) Valley Memorial Hospital’s offer to become the hospital’s president and CEO.

11. Dennis Vonderfecht, president and CEO of Johnson City, Tenn.-based Mountain States Health Alliance, announced plans to retire at year’s end.

12. John Sackett, FACHE, president and CEO of Avista Adventist Hospital in Louisville, Colo., will step down to become president of Rockville, Md.-based Shady Grove Adventist Hospital in April.

13. Marilyn Bowcutt was named president of University Hospital in Augusta, Ga.
