UMMS earned Stage 6 on the HIMSS Analytics Outpatient EMR Adoption Model for its improvements in patient safety and clinician support. This announcement follows five University of Maryland System hospitals achieving the Stage 6 recognition last fall.

UMMS leadership largely credits this milestone to the University of Maryland System’s recent adoption of the Epic portfolio.

“This achievement reflects our system’s focus to ensure we are providing innovative, patient-centric care at every touch point,” said Jon Burns, senior vice president and CIO for UMMS. “This is a result of physicians, nurses, techs, ancillary staff and administrative staff all collaborating to improve workflows and introduce new features.”
