They pointed to collaborations with Charlotte, N.C.-based Atrium Health, Chicago-based Northwestern Medicine and Pittsburgh-based Highmark Health as part of their growth strategies.
“With DAX Copilot, we are applying generative models to draft high-quality clinical notes in seconds, increasing physician productivity and reducing burnout. For example, Atrium Health, a leading provider in the southeast United States, credits DAX Copilot with helping its physicians each save up to 40 minutes per day in documentation time,” Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella said in the call. “We’re also introducing healthcare data solutions in Microsoft Fabric, enabling providers like Northwestern Medicine and SingHealth to unify health data in a secure, compliant way.”
Atrium was the first system to test out the new AI copilot from Microsoft subsidiary Nuance and plans to expand it across the organization.
“From Q2 to Q3, the number of active generative AI projects on Vertex AI grew by seven times, including Highmark Health, which is creating more personalized member materials,” Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai said in his call.
Vertex AI is Google Cloud’s generative AI platform, which Rochester, Minn.-based Mayo Clinic and Edison, N.J.-based Hackensack Meridian Health are also exploring.
Microsoft and Alphabet both reported strong overall earnings growth, while Microsoft’s cloud computing forecast was rosier than Alphabet’s, sending their stock prices in opposite directions Oct. 25.
