IMS Health, Quintiles complete merger to form QuintilesIMS

IMS Health and Quintiles Transnational Holdings have successfully merged. The company has been renamed Quintiles IMS Holdings and will be known as QuintilesIMS.

IMS Health, a global information and technology services company, and Quintiles, a provider of product development and integrated healthcare services, completed the all-stock merger of equals transaction. The companies announced the merger in May.

QuintilesIMS includes approximately 50,000 employees in more than 100 countries. The new company aims to provide a broad range of healthcare information, technology and service solutions.

IMS Health Chairman and CEO Ari Bousbib will become chairman and CEO of the merged organization, while Tom Pike, Quintiles CEO, will serve as vice chairman.
