Oracle Health is advancing voice commands in the EHR while participating in government initiatives to expand interoperability and the adoption of electronic prior authorizations.

1. Oracle Health is working on more voice-command capabilities that will help the industry move toward everyday voice interaction with the EHR, a health system leader told Becker’s for a May 28 story.

4. Oracle is participating in a new CMS initiative aimed at accelerating adoption of electronic prior authorization tools ahead of federal requirements set to take effect in 2027, the agency said May 13.
5. Cleveland Clinic President and CEO Tomislav Mihaljevic, MD, was named to the board of Oracle to further the company’s healthcare efforts, Oracle said May 13.
6. Atrium Health, part of Charlotte, N.C.-based Advocate Health, said in a May data security incident involving EHR vendor Oracle Health may have exposed patient information tied to legacy systems used before the organization transitioned to other EHR platforms.
7. Oracle Health’s clinical AI agent has assisted providers at Springfield, Ga.-based Effingham Health System in completing more than 5,000 patient notes since implementation in July 2025, Becker’s reported May 7.
8. The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking $4.2 billion to modernize its Oracle Health EHR, an $840 million increase from the previous funding level, while the agency’s secretary told lawmakers the resumption of the Oracle Health implementation has so far been “phenomenal.”
9. Paterson, N.J.-based St. Joseph’s Health said in May it has saved millions of dollars from a blood management program in its Oracle Health EHR.
