To ensure apps offered in its App Store are safe and present credible information relating to COVID-19, Apple will only approve apps that are from entities such as government organizations, health-focused nonprofit organizations, companies credentialed in health issues and medical or educational institutions.
Apple’s update comes less than a month after reports that the technology giant was denying applications related to the coronavirus outbreak that weren’t released by an official health organization or government.
Apple also stated that entertainment or game apps related to COVID-19 will not be offered in its store, according to the blog post.
