Aetna launches challenge to leverage IT in underserved communities

The Aetna Foundation, the charitable and philanthropic arm of Aetna, has launched its Healthier World Innovation Challenge, an initiative prompting organizations to develop technology to improve chronic health outcomes in underserved communities.

Aetna will choose six challenge winners who will be awarded up to $750,000 each over three years, as well as support from the Aetna Foundation and its partners to implement their innovations.

Nonprofit organizations, community organizations and those with 501(c)(3) status, and state and local government organizations are eligible to enter the challenge.
