5 things to know about DC Blockchain Summit 2017

The DC Blockchain Summit 2017 will take place in Washington, D.C., on March 15 and March 16, 2017.

Here are five things to know about the event:

1. The summit, hosted by the Chamber of Digital Commerce together with Washington, D.C.-based Georgetown University’s Center for Financial Markets and Policy, aims to bring together government, financial services, healthcare, technology and insurance leaders to further blockchain technology adoption.

2. There will be a ‘fireside chat’ with U.S. Representatives Jared Polis, I-Colo., and David Schweikert, R-Ariz., co-chairs of the Blockchain Caucus.

3. Prior to the summit, the Chamber of Digital Commerce and ONC are co-hosting the “Blockchain in Healthcare Code-A-Thon.”

4. The code-a-thon will includes challenges to develop healthcare solutions using open source ledger technology.

5. Chicago-based Accenture is the title sponsor of the summit.
