4 recent healthcare CIO moves

Here are three CIOs and a CMIO who stepped into new positions within the past month.

LaVerne Council officially stepped in as CIO of the Department of Veterans Affairs. Ms. Council will manage the VA's $4 billion IT portfolio.

Rockledge, Fla.-based Health First, an integrated delivery network in Central Florida, selected Alex Popowycz as senior vice president and CIO.

Cone Health, based in Greensboro, N.C., named Valerie A. Leschber, MD, as its new CMIO. In her new role, Dr. Leschber will work with providers across the Cone Health system to ensure technology systems are supporting and improving patient care.

Analytics software developer New Relic named Yvonne Wassenaar its first CIO. Ms. Wassenaar was previously the company's senior vice president of operations. As CIO, she will be responsible for scaling the company’s internal technology to drive business strategy and growth, according to the report.
