If you would like to share your health IT tips, insights, pointers or best practices, please email Max Green at mgreen@beckershealthcare.com to be featured in the "Health IT tip of the day" series.

Having measures in place, be they reminders to staff or policies about usage, to prevent the theft of laptops, hard drives and other portable technology, can make the difference between secure data and breached data. Just ask Riverside County Regional Medical Center in Moreno Valley, Calif., The Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee or New York City-based Senior Health Partners.
