1. Change leaders’ mindset. Getting leaders to understand the need for CBI requires they understand the data their frontline staff need. Use real-life examples to show leaders how real-time data could make a difference to clinical processes.
2. Standardize data. Keep data centrally located and develop standardized processes for collecting and comparing data. These practices improve interoperability, analysis and data coordination.
3. Build a culture of transparency. Transparency enables processes redesign as soon as possible when errors occur. Transparency also empowers employees to solve problems themselves, because they understand how various organizational aspects are connected.
