The report, titled Lessons Learned From The World’s Biggest Data Breaches And Privacy Abuses, 2016, analyzed noteworthy security incidents from 2016.
The report found approximately 95 percent of all breached records were from three industries: government, retail and technology, according to TechRepublic. Forrester analyzed five industries, and a common theme that emerged was not placing enough emphasis on security practices.
Forrester stressed organizations across the board should assess all possible weak points and better plan for security issues.
