Here are nine revenue cycle company mergers and acquisitions that have been announced or completed since March 17:
1. Med-Metrix on July 31 completed its acquisition of Vitalware, a cloud-based revenue integrity and chargemaster management software company, from Health Catalyst. The deal, worth $147 million in total cash consideration, adds mid-revenue cycle software capabilities to Med-Metrix’s existing technology-enabled revenue cycle management platform.
2. Raintree Systems on July 15 acquired Spike Technologies, a developer of agentic AI voice technology, to embed automated voice agents directly into its EHR and practice management platform for rehabilitation and physical therapy organizations. The acquisition targets some of the most labor-intensive tasks in revenue cycle management, including payer calls, claims follow-up, eligibility checks, prior authorization and patient outreach.
3. IKS Health on July 9 completed its $557 million acquisition of TruBridge, which provides revenue cycle management and EHR services for rural and community hospitals. Following the closing, TruBridge operates as a wholly owned subsidiary of IKS Health. The combined organization supports more than 2,000 healthcare organizations and more than 150,000 clinicians across the U.S.
4. Experity on July 1 acquired Exdion Healthcare, an AI-driven revenue cycle management company. The deal folds Exdion’s automated coding, billing and compliance software into Experity’s platform, which serves nearly half of all urgent care clinics in the U.S.
5. Healthcare investment platform Thoreau entered into an agreement to make a strategic growth investment in Ensemble Health Partners. The investment will support the revenue cycle management company’s continued growth and accelerate its investment in technology and people. Berkshire Partners, Warburg Pincus and Cincinnati-based Bon Secours Mercy Health will continue as investors in Ensemble alongside Thoreau.
6. Med-Metrix signed a definitive agreement June 10 to acquire CanAide from HCAP Partners. CanAide provides technology-enabled services that help healthcare providers improve patient access and optimize their front-end revenue cycle performance.
7. Healthcare technology company Innovaccer acquired RCM company CaduceusHealth on May 21. The acquisition brings CaduceusHealth’s ambulatory RCM expertise and client relationships directly into Innovaccer’s agentic revenue cycle platform.
8. Global investment firm Carlyle acquired a majority stake in revenue cycle management companies Knack RCM and EqualizeRCM on May 4. Knack and Equalize are complementary RCM providers serving rural hospitals, physician groups, durable medical equipment providers and other specialty provider segments.
9. Knowtion Health on March 17 acquired revly, a revenue cycle management firm focused on reimbursement optimization. The acquisition expands Knowtion’s claims routing services to serve a broader range of providers.
