Med-Metrix has completed its acquisition of Vitalware, a cloud-based revenue integrity and chargemaster management software company, from Health Catalyst.
The deal, worth $147 million in total cash consideration, closed July 31, according to an Aug. 6 Health Catalyst news release. The acquisition adds mid-revenue cycle software capabilities to Med-Metrix’s existing technology-enabled revenue cycle management platform.
Vitalware was founded in 2011 and acquired by data and analytics technology company Health Catalyst in 2020. Its tools are used by health systems and hospitals to improve visibility and continuity in coding, billing and revenue integrity processes.
With the Vitalware divestiture complete, Health Catalyst is directing its investment toward the intelligence layer at the core of its product development, according to the release.
