Healthcare CFOs’ tenures last an average of 3.7 years, according to a September report from Crist Kolder Associates.
Here are the tenures of the CFOs at the 10 largest health systems in the U.S. (Health system size is determined by the number of hospitals, based on organizational data as of February.)
- HCA Healthcare (Nashville, Tenn.): Mike Marks became CFO in May 2024.
- CommonSpirit Health (Chicago): Michael Browning became CFO in December 2025.
- Lifepoint Health (Brentwood, Tenn.): Lifepoint is currently conducting a national search for its next CFO after Aaron Lewis was appointed president and COO in June. He had served as CFO since April 2024.
- Ascension (St. Louis): Saurabh Tripathi became CFO in April 2024.
- ScionHealth (Louisville, Ky.): Scott Graeser became CFO in June 2026.
- Trinity Health (Livonia, Mich.): Daniel Isacksen Jr. became CFO in July 2021.
- Advocate Health (Charlotte, N.C.): Brad Clark became CFO in December 2023.
- Christus Health (Irving, Texas): Randy Safady became CFO in June 2011.
- Community Health Systems (Franklin, Tenn.): Jason Johnson became permanent CFO in December 2025. He had served as interim CFO since that October.
- Sanford Health (Sioux Falls, S.D.): Nick Olson became CFO in April 2024.
