8 latest CFO moves in hospitals, health systems

The following hospital and health system CFO moves were announced or completed in the past month, beginning with the most recent.

1. Wayne Allen, who has been serving as interim CEO and CFO of Mendocino Coast District Hospital in Fort Bragg, Calif., for the last three years, retired. Steve Miller will become interim CFO.

2. Jane Phillips Medical Center in Bartlesville, Okla., named James Brasel, MBA, CFO.

3. Weldon Gage, MBA, CFO of Children's Hospital of Wisconsin in Milwaukee, announced he will leave to take a position as CFO of the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston in January.

4. Sharp Grossmont Hospital in La Mesa, Calif., named Daniel Kindron CFO.

5. Houston-based University General Health System promoted Kris Trent, CPA, to CFO from (his former position).

6. The University of Rochester (N.Y.) Medical Center named David A. Kirshner, MBA, CFO. Mr. Kirshner will join URMC in January, following the retirement of Michael Goonan in December.

7. David F. Alexander, CPA, MBA, has been named CFO of Paterson, N.J.-based St. Joseph's Healthcare System.

8. Seven executives, including CFO Tim Susterich, left Wyoming, Mich.-based Metro Health as it pursued a strategic partnership with Brentwood, Tenn.-based Community Health Systems.
