Great Plains Health names Mel McNea CEO

Great Plains Health in North Platte, Neb., has appointed Mel McNea, MHA, as CEO, effective immediately.

Mr. McNea joined the hospital in 1987 as the director of diagnostic imaging. In 2004 he was promoted to vice president of operations, and then to COO in 2009. He served as interim CEO in both 2008 and 2014.

Before joining Great Plains Health, Mr. McNea was the director of radiology at St. Anthony’s Hospital in O’Neil, Neb., and at St. Andrew’s Hospital in Bottineau, N.D.
