Cerner to add Nuance voice assistant to EHR: 3 details

Cerner announced July 30 it will integrate Nuance’s virtual assistant tech into its Millennium EHR, allowing clinicians to navigate the platform using voice commands.

Three details:

1. The partnership builds on Cerner and Nuance’s existing integration between the artificial intelligence software developer’s Dragon Medical platform and Cerner Millennium.

2. With Nuance’s AI-powered voice assistant, clinicians can use their voice to power clinical tasks inside the EHR such as chart search, intelligent computerized physician order entry and scheduling.

3. Select joint Cerner and Nuance clients will be able to start deploying the integrated virtual assistant tech later this year.
